Harry’s BBQ tip- What not to grill.
RoboCop dvd
Bean burgers are miserable at the BBQ- in fact most veggie burger/ banger equivalents can be pretty disappointing in the holding-it-all-together stakes required to stand up to Flintstones inspired racks of meat. You want to prove a veggie barbie can be a happy barbie, beanburgers will not help you do this. They stick to the metal grate then when you try and turn them they fall through the gaps mercilessly, to their cremation below. NB do not try to rescue them at this stage, they are a lost cause. Abandon them. It’s all about the corn on the cob.

Veggie BBQs can be delishious too, I had the most amazing triple stack burger, Haloumi (how do you spell that, i don’t know, Haloomee?) cheese, big portobello mushroom, big wodgee tomato. My homework for this week was to do a charcoal drawing, geddit? But I failed so instead I’m going to be posting a pencil sketch this week, as soon as I can figure out the scanning thingumy. Just don’t go bbqing with pencil lead, it’s not a vice versa thing.

Thanks for the reminder – re Harry’s BBQ (when did you get a chance to have one of those this year??) If you put the bean/veggie burgers into a fish or square holder, you can turn them over without them crumbling to pieces!

I distinctly remember a lovely sunny June, or was it July. Thanks for the top tip Carol. I was hoping for some Indian Summer September BBQ action, but no, grey grey grey. I know our charcoal company are a bit miffed about it too! Luckily we also do firewood, mmm cosy.
